Webmasters today are looking for more details and reporting
information from their log files.
Currently your account includes the excellent log analyzer
program - Webalizer
Not one log analysis program used today provides details
and reporting to fit everyone's needs, so we decided to
improve on that, providing two log analyzers with your
account - Webalizer and AWStats.
AWStats is considered by many our Webmasters to be one of
the finest log analysis programs available for use today.
Together they will provide to you a comprehensive set of
details on the traffic your website is receiving. Both of
these log analysis programs will run seamlessly together.
We have also found that some Webmasters prefer the reporting
and layout of AWStats versus Webalizer. This is another
reason we have included it as an installable package in your
"Package Installation" section of netConsole.
It is incredibly easy to install AWStats from within
netConsole.
Login to netConsole, and then click on "Package Installer".
Once inside the Package Installer section, find "awstats"
in the "Install Package" drop down list. Select it and then
click the "Install" button.
The next page you will see is the Documentation regarding
AWStats. At the bottom of the web page is the button -
"Install awsats now". Click on that button.
That's it - AWStats is now installed in your account.
Using a web browser, go to your awstats directory
(http://yourDomainName.com/awstats). Log in using your
Administrative login name and password. You will be taken
directly to the AWStats reporting of your log file.
To review the documentation again, and for a direct
hyperlink to your new installation of AWStats, click on
the "awstats" icon in your "Currently Installed Packages"
listing on the main page of the Package Installation
section.
