Outgoing (SMTP) Email

The Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is the predominate protocol for sending electronic mail.

Internet Connection offers all of their hosting customers their own SMTP servers (YourDomainName.com for Unix customers and mail.YourDomainName.com for NT customers) but customers can choose to use their ISP's SMTP service instead.

A note about Internet Connection's SMTP services:

Like many other companies attempting to cut down on Spam, Internet Connection has a restricted SMTP service. We don't restrict SMTP access as far as how many messages you send, the size of the messages or how many recipients you specify. Instead, we simply require that access to our SMTP service be from accounts on our systems.

For more information on this, please see the the page discussing our SMTP (Mail Sending) Policy.
